Advantages And Disadvantages Of Fluoro Rubber O-rings
Fluoro rubber o-rings appears more and more times in industrial equipment. With the continuous improvement of china's industrial manufacturing level and the emergence of more high-temperature and high-pressure environments, the requirements for rubber sealing rings are higher and higher, so now there is more demand for fluoro rubber o-rings. And fluoro rubber skeleton oil seal is the most typical representative of the fluoro rubber o-rings. What advantages does the fluoro rubber seal have? Can meet the increasing demand for equipment?
First of all, fluoro rubber o-rings referred to as fkm, is a polymer containing fluoro atoms on the carbon atoms of the main chain and side chain. There are fluoro atoms in rubber molecules. The c-f composed of fluoro atoms and carbon atoms has a high performance. At the same time, fluoro atoms have a great adsorption effect, which makes the c-c bond properties of fluorocarbon molecular chain enhance, and with the increase of the degree of fluorination, fluoro atoms can better screen the c-c primary key, so as to ensure the chemical properties of a c-c bond.
Advantages of fluoro rubber o-rings:
1. Fluoro rubber o-rings has excellent high-temperature resistance
The most outstanding feature of the fluoro rubber o-rings is its excellent high-temperature resistance. It can work for a long time under the working condition of 200 ℃ to 250 ℃, and it is not only limited to this but also can work for a short time under the high temperature of 300 to 450 ℃. The tensile strength and hardness of fluoro rubber are inversely proportional to temperature. Below 150 ℃, with the increase of temperature, the intensity begins to decrease. Between 150-260, with the increase in temperature, the speed of decline will gradually become stable. Another outstanding feature is the low-temperature performance of the fluoro rubber skeleton oil seal, which can maintain elasticity within the range of - 20 ℃ up and down. However, with the decrease of temperature, its tensile strength increases, and it will harden at low temperatures. When the temperature reaches - 30 ℃, the thickness becomes 1.872 mm; when the temperature reaches - 45 ℃, the thickness directly becomes 0.631 mm; when it reaches - 70 ℃, its thickness is 0.251 mm.
2. Fluoro rubber o-rings has excellent aging resistance
Fluoro rubberhas very good aging resistance and ozone resistance. After 10 years of natural storage, the properties of fluoro rubber products are still satisfactory.
3. Fluoro rubber has excellent chemical stability
In addition to excellent heat resistance, the fluoro rubber o-rings has another characteristic of stable chemical properties. Its stability to organic liquids such as fuel oil, hydraulic oil, lubricating oil, various dilutes and concentrated nitric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and high concentration hydrogen peroxide is better than other rubber. It is also one of the rubber elastomers with the best resistance to various chemical media.
4. Fluoro rubber o-rings has excellent mechanical properties
Fluoro rubber o-rings is also the material with excellent physical and mechanical properties in rubber elastomer. It has good advantages in tear strength and elongation at break. The compression deformation rate of the fluoro rubber o-rings is very small through the test.
Disadvantages of fluoro rubber o-rings:
1. Poor low-temperature performance
The low-temperature performance of fluoro rubber is poor because of its chemical structure.
2. Poor radiation resistance
The radiation resistance of fluoro rubber is one of the worse elastomers.
3. The cost is relatively high fluoro
Compared with nbr, the cost of the rubber is still much higher.
What are the types of fluoro rubber seals?
