Introduction of fluoro rubber o-rings

There are fluorine atoms in rubber molecules. The C-F composed of fluorine atoms and carbon atoms has a high performance. At the same time, fluorine atoms have a great adsorption effect, which makes the C-C bond properties of fluorocarbon molecular chain enhance, and with the increase of the degree of fluorination, fluorine atoms can better follow the C-C primary key and ensure the chemical properties of a C-C bond. This special molecular structure makes fluoro rubber have excellent heat resistance, drug resistance, solvent resistance, fluorination resistance, vacuum resistance, oil resistance, and aging resistance.

The main types of fluoro rubber are 26, 246, and 23; TETRA propylene fluoro rubber, fluoro silicone rubber, basic subunit fluoro rubber, fluorinated phosphazene rubber, and perfluoro ether rubber.

Main properties of fluoro rubber o-rings

1. Chemical stability fluoro rubber has a high degree of chemical stability and is the best medium resistance among all elastomers. Type 26 fluoro rubber is resistant to petroleum-based oil, diester oil, silicone ether silicone oil, an inorganic acid, and most organic solvents, but it is not resistant to low molecular weight, ether and ester, ammonia, hydrofluoric acid, chlorosulfonic acid, and hydraulic oil. Class 23 is more unique. Its strong oxidation resistance of inorganic acids such as nicotinic acid and concentrated sulfuric acid is better than type 26.

2. Excellent high temperature resistance

Fluorine rubber has the same high temperature resistance as silicone rubber, which can be said to be the best elastomer at present. 246>26>23

3. Good aging resistance

It has excellent weather aging resistance and ozone resistance.

4. Excellent vacuum performance

It has excellent vacuum performance.

5. Excellent mechanical properties

It has excellent physical and mechanical properties. The compression set of NBR and chloroprene rubber is larger than that of type 26 rubber under the same conditions.

6. Good electrical performance

Type 23 fluoro rubber has better electrical properties and lowers moisture absorption than other elastomers, so it can be used as a good electrical insulation material. Generally, fluoro rubber is only suitable for low-frequency and low-voltage applications, and its electrical properties are greatly affected by temperature. When the temperature rises from 24 ℃ to 184 ℃, its insulation resistance decreases by 35000 times.

7. Small gas

Fluorine rubber has high solubility to gas, but its diffusion speed is relatively small, so the overall performance of permeability is also small. It is reported that the permeability of 26 fluoro rubber to oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide at 30 ℃ is equivalent to that of butyl rubber and better than that of chloroprene rubber and natural rubber.

8. Poor low temperature performance

The low temperature performance of fluoro rubber is not good because of its chemical structure. For example, Tg of 23-11 type is higher than 0 ℃. The low-temperature properties of fluoro rubber are usually expressed by brittleness temperature and cold resistance coefficient of compression. The formula of the compound and the shape of the product have a great influence on brittleness temperature.

9. Poor radiation resistance

The radiation resistance of fluoro rubber is poor among the elastomers. Type 26 rubber shows a crosslinking effect after radiation, while type 23 shows a cracking effect.

10. As a kind of synthetic rubber, fluoro rubber has excellent chemical resistance, oil resistance, and temperature resistance, and its long-term use temperature is above 200 ° C. Fluororubber has the characteristics of high fluorine content, strong C-F bond, and no unsaturated bond in chemical structure, so it has excellent temperature resistance and excellent oil resistance. Since FKM is called FKM in ASTM D1418, FKM is used to represent fluoro rubber. According to the classification of rubber by SAE j200 / ASTM d2000, fluoro rubber is classified as "HK" material. The original fluoro rubber is a copolymer of hexafluoropropylene and vinylidene fluoride. It was developed by DuPont company in 1957 and used for oil tank seal, oil gas seal, and hydraulic system seal in the aerospace field. Fluororubber has been widely used in the industry. Used as O-ring, U-ring, V-ring, Y-ring, gasket, and other forms of the static and dynamic seal. And some other parts of the fuel and drive system
